Safety & information

Safe use of microneedling

Safe use comes first for us. Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment in which very fine needles create tiny microchannels in the skin. This helps skincare products absorb more effectively and supports the skin’s natural renewal process.

Using microneedling safely at home

Read the guidelines below carefully before every treatment. This helps you understand exactly when microneedling is and is not suitable, how to prepare and how to care for your skin afterwards.

  • Avoid direct sunlight until the skin has recovered.
  • Use SPF50 daily.
  • Avoid sauna, swimming pools and intensive exercise for the first 48 hours.
  • Only use mild skincare.
  • Do not scratch any flaking skin.
  • Do not wet the skin for the first 24 hours and avoid make-up.
Hygiene

Always work hygienically

For every treatment:

  • Use a new sterile cartridge.
  • Do not use damaged cartridges.
  • Never share cartridges with others.
  • Store products according to the instructions.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about microneedling

Microneedling is a treatment where ultra-fine needles (12-pin) create small channels in the skin. This stimulates natural collagen production and strengthens the absorption of suitable serums. Nanoneedling is a mild, superficial skin treatment where a nano-cartridge moves over the upper skin layer. The treatment is mainly focused on hydration, glow, and a smoother skin structure. Nanoneedling is significantly more superficial and typically requires little to no recovery time.

It is used to improve skin structure and stimulate the natural recovery process. It can help with fine lines, enlarged pores, small scars, pigmentation spots, and dull or uneven skin. Results vary from person to person.

That depends on the needle depth. Superficial feels like a tingling or light scratching; deeper can feel more intense. Slight redness and sensitivity afterwards are normal. Nano needle modules are painless and there is no downtime.

Yes, provided it's done hygienically, with the correct technique and on suitable skin. Incorrect use or insufficient hygiene carries a risk of irritation, infection, pigment changes or scarring.

Start the skin check and see whether it is suitable for your skin.

The skin may feel red, warm and slightly swollen, similar to sunburn. Light flaking in the following days is possible — avoid scratching.

Mild, hydrating care. Avoid skincare products with acids such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid and lactic acid, plus scrubs and peels, during the first week. Protect the skin during the day with SPF50, as it is temporarily more sensitive to the sun.

Avoid make-up during the first 24 hours.

It depends on the needle depth and skin condition. Superficial can be done more often, deeper requires more recovery time. Let the skin recover for at least 3 to 4 weeks. At home, build up slowly and always follow the usage instructions.

The Nano needle modules offer a mild, low-threshold way to get acquainted with microneedling. The fine micro-applicators work superficially and provide a gentle peeling effect, without the deeper microchannels of traditional microneedling. Microneedling with 12-pins needle modules works deeper and more intensively.

Yes, provided you carefully protect the treated skin against UV radiation. Do not treat sunburned or heavily tanned skin, and avoid direct sun around the treatment. Use a high sun protection with SPF50 daily.

In that case, do not use the 12-pin or Nano needle module. The modules are manufactured from medical stainless steel, but have not been explicitly marked as nickel-free by the manufacturer. If in doubt, ask a dermatologist or allergist for advice.

There is no maximum age for microneedling. As long as the skin is healthy and there are no contraindications, the treatment can also be performed at a later age. Especially in mature skin, microneedling can help stimulate collagen production, making the skin appear firmer, smoother and more even. Keep in mind that the skin often recovers a little more slowly at a higher age, so it is important to carefully follow the recommended aftercare.
